Get Hooked Fishing Derby event! August 4, 2018
Join the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Mississippi Valley for our 3rd annual Get Hooked Fishing Derby! Gates open at the Rock Island Conversation Club at 6:00 am with fishing beginning at 7:00 am! Shore fishing only, and all ages are welcome.
Catfish and sunfish are stocked in the water and hundreds will have a prize tag redeemable for various prizes. Fishermen can keep the catfish they catch! One catfish will have a special grand prize tag. The grand prize is a 2018 Honda CR-V EX from Zimmerman Honda (must be 18 or older to win the vehicle)!
**By submission of your registration, you are agreeing to the rules & regulations of the Get Hooked Fishing Derby.
This year’s event will be limited to 625 participants.
**You can register online until July 21, or at packet pickup sites the week of the event:
Wednesday, August 1- Thursday, August 2, 3:30-6:30 PM at the QCCA Expo Center
Friday, August 3, 9 AM-5PM at the Rock Island Conservation Club
**Registrations after July 21 are not guaranteed a t-shirt or a particular t-shirt size. Please register online before the 21st to ensure you receive your t-shirt size.**
**Note: This year, a Fishing License is required for all participants age 16 and older. The IL DNR will be at the event and may ask you to present your license. Failure to do so may result in a fine.
**You can purchase a fishing license online at http://www.dnr.illinois.gov, or in person at Dick’s Sporting Goods and Walmart. You can also purchase a license at our in-person registration/packet pickup on the dates listed above.
